Report 2013

Inforeport 2013:1 - Folder
Dynamic places in the Stockholm region - Regional cores - A prerequisite for a growing Stockholm region

Stockholm’s eight regional cores have high accessibility and are located at strategically important nodes in the transport system. Concentrating development and businesses in certain cores paves the way for less dependency on the car, as well as a better developed public transport system. The goals and focus of the development work are described in the regional development plan for the Stockholm region, RUFS 2010, as well as in municipal comprehensive plans and local development programmes. RUFS- The big picture - Exhibition Proposal
Guide to the Regional Development Plan of the Stockholm Region. [pdf]

It’s all about people. It’s about the way we live and how we
get to work. It’s about how we bridge the gulfs between us.
It’s about what the future will be like for our children and our
children’s children. We face major challenges in the decades
ahead. However, our development plan has great faith in the
future.
The vision is for Stockholm to become Europe’s most attractive
metropolitan region. One thing’s for sure – no development
plan has ever been as important as this one.

Social Values in Urban Green Areas - The Green Wedges of the Stockholms region [pdf]

Communing with nature makes people feel good. Being close to green spaces and parks means that we suffer from fewer physical and mental ailments, experience less stress, can concentrate better and recuperate faster from ill-health. These conclusions emerge clearly from present-day research. Human beings’ need for contact with nature is especially marked in a metropolitan region, where the pace of life is hectic and the physical environment stressful.
